Herschel J Grangent, Sr. founded Grangent Insurance and Financial Services in 1990 after a successful 21-year career with The John Hancock Financial Services of Boston, MA. He attended Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia and received a degree in computer programming from Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, NC in 1969. Mr. Grangent completed the two year Financial Planner Program at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1999.

Mr. Grangent  obtained the Designation of Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow in 1985 after completing a four-part course of study in insurance and financial planning skills.

Mr. Grangent holds the following licenses: Life, Health, Property and Casualty and Variable Products. In addition to these state insurance licenses he hold the series 6 and 63 securities registrations.
